So I followed the copy cat twinkie recipe online (the one calling for pound cake and egg whites) because it seems to be the most popular. Because the pan is dark, my twinkies burnt. Next time I will need to adjust the cook time. Also, the cakes came out round and puffy, not flat like the picture. I also copied the cream filling recipe from the online copycat recipe, which tastes just like the real thing! But... It made he red ink on the pastry bag smear all over the place, and it would not squirt through the skinny tip. It was extremely slow and difficult, my muscles were aching trying to squirt just one twnkie! Then the flimsy bag burst at the seam and I had to innovate with a freezer ziplock bag.I tried the online method of using rounded foil instead of a pan, and believe it or not, theyncame out way better because they were cooked perfectly! if u just want yummy twinkies follow the recipe online and dont bother getting this bake set (they show you how to make the rounded twinkie shaped foil pans...easy!) If you just want to own a piece ofthe actual twinkie brand for nostalgia's sake, get the bake set.

I love Twinkies! And I am so upset that I won't be able to get them anymore. So I searched out this kit and now I make my own at home. It works great and I thought the twinkies were close. Not exactly like the real thing but enough to get my "fix". Now I will enjoy twinkies long after hostess sells the last one. Which if any-one knows where I can still find one, please let me know!

No matter what happens with twinkies, you can make some at home with this bake set. We picked up this and have been making twinkies with our kids ever since. Our kids love making them and they turn out really good. If your kids that like crafts and baking, this is a good pickup. Twinkies will always be style for the kids (or the parents!).
