The same would happento anything under the electric element.The silicone decomposes and might burn and the odor and smoke would ruin yourfood. It could also cause you eye injury. Silicones are a major eye irritant.When silicone is cured as in a mat it won't come off onto your hands.Many hand lotions contain a silicone. The Dimethicone in many 'good' lotionsworks well to seal in skin moisture. And if you happen to rub your eye it willsting for hours. I used the silicone liner and when i went to take it off it was stuck to the floor of my oven. So how do I clean off the residue left? I figured it was caused by being close to the heating element but didnt see any red letter warnings re this. My house is for sale and dont want to ruin the oven. HELP!

great product. exactly as advertised . i received a used oven, like new in all respects except lower oven had very badly burned on stains. now oven looks like new
