The product description for the Johnson-Rose Bake Liner doesn't provide a whole lot of detail, so it was difficult when I bought it to be sure of what I would get. Firstly, this is not a silicone baking mat, such as Silpat or one of the many other brands out there. Instead, this is more like a thin, woven, fiberglass fabric coated in non-stick Teflon. The liner is about a millimeter thick and feels like a piece of very smooth, thick, and tightly woven plastic tarp. The description says this is for 3/4 size baking sheets, which apparently for J-R translates to a liner size of 20.5" by 14.5".The liner has held up pretty well to baking. I've done buns, cookies, pastries, and granola bars on the thing without anything sticking. It's also fairly easy to clean, just wiping it down usually does the trick or rising it with warm soap water. However, unlike silicone mats (and like anything coated in Teflon), you have to be careful not to take to the liner with anything that could scratch the non-stick surface. The liner has proven that it doesn't scratch easily, but it's still something you have to keep in mind while using it.A couple advantages this liner has over silicone sheets is that unlike silicone, you can safely cut the liner to your desired size if your pan is a bit smaller. It's also thinner, takes up less space, and a bit cheaper. If you aren't doing a ton of heavy baking, this is definitely an alternative I would consider.
